To say this family is beautiful is an understatement. These moms are definitely giving me a complex!
Kylea and Kade were absolute angels for this session, too. How often can you child photographers say that?

I know. It’s just not fair.

You two are gorgeous (slash handsome, Jon).

Being silly, but I love it.

Thanks for an amazing session, R family!!

Well, folks – it’s that beautiful time of year when family photographers are absolutely swamped! I wanted to quickly say that my schedule is full through the rest of 2010. I’ll be traveling in CA for most of December, and I’m booked up until then. I look forward to indoor newborn and baby sessions during the winter months (so if you know any expecting moms, send them my way!), and I will be picking up with outdoor family sessions again in the spring.
For now, here is an itty bitty peek at a simply gorgeous family.

More of your session will be up soon!

The R family was SUCH a treat to photograph! They are a beautiful family, inside and out, and it sure showed in their session.
Here’s a little peek…

Right?? I know. They are too darling.

It’s about time for another Tell All Tuesday, don’t you think? Here is a quick tutorial that is helpful when your subject wears glasses…let’s call it Reducing Glare from Glasses.
Here is a before shot – see the yellow glare on his glasses?

1. Ctrl + J to create a new layer (in case you want to adjust opacity), then click on the Quick Selection Tool and use it to select your subject’s glasses frames.

2. Then create a Selective Color adjustment layer. Choose “Yellow” from the dropdown color menu, and slide the “Yellow” slider to -100 and “Black” to +100. Adjust the opacity if you’d like (I left mine as is).

Ta da! Easy peasy.

Here is another tutorial, by MCP Actions’ Jodi Friedman, to remove glare from glasses. It’s a much more involved method. CLICK HERE. And HERE is another of her posts with more tips on reducing glare.

My two darlings on the first day of preschool last month (Carson is in a little group us moms teach, and Cami gets to join in when it’s my week).

She doesn’t realize yet how lucky she is to have Carson as a big brother.

*Technical note: all of the recent images I’ve posted of my kids have been with made with my Canon 50 1.4 lens. Starting to love it.

I see you…

My mom was in town recently, and on her last night, Carson cuddled up next to her and was wowed with awesome animal photo after awesome animal photo on her iPhone. He was so excited, especially about grandma letting him push the buttons himself.

I’m glad I pulled out the camera to capture these two having such a great time together.
